Multiple gunshots heard this morning in Sherman Oaks hills neighborhood [Updated]

A Sherman Oaks resident called police this morning, saying a person wearing a ski mask had fired multiple gunshots into a home, said LAPD Officer Norman Eisenman.

Police responded to the call in the hills of Sherman Oaks, where residents said they'd heard a series of gunshots.

The call came at around 5:49 a.m. in the 3400 block of Longridge Avenue, Eisenman said.

[Updated at 6:35 a.m.: At least four shots were fired, police said, and at least one person was hit.  A man was injured in the leg. The L.A. Fire Department and the LAPD responded and were on the scene.]

[Updated at 6:44 a.m.: The gunshot victim was a man about 35 years old, Eisenman said. At 7:11 a.m.: The address of the house where the shots were fired was 3446 N. Longridge Ave. Erik Scott, L.A. Fire Department spokesman, said the wound suffered by the gunshot victim was not life threatening. ]
