Marijuana-growing operation found behind LAPD's Topanga Station

Police discovered a marijuana growing operation this afternoon on a property just 25 feet from the back door of the Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga Station, authorities said.

The marijuana plants were discovered after a search warrant was served about 3 p.m. on the property in the 8400 block of Canoga Avenue, LAPD officer Gregory Baek said.

He said officers launched an investigation about a week ago after smelling marijuana. Investigators were at the scene, and no additional details were available.

well that was dumb

Well, gee, I'm sorry, but Steve Cooley is forcing me to grow my own. Was that not a good choice of location?

Criminals make it so easy for dumb police.Idiots were to stingy to make the appropriate hush money payoff.Boneheads forgot thier is always pig's and want to be piglets around a major pigpen.low and behold a pig sneaks some and if used by pigs they get the munchies, hence the saying pigging out.

The whole obsession with pot is silly beyond words. The powers-that-be have nothing else to do, so they harp on something that adults want to enjoy. They use "children" as the excuse. Just an enormous waste of resources for the past 35 years.

kol hakvod (and I ain't talking about the cops)

This story just goes to illustrate that laws have no deterance for those who want to get into the trafficking of pot. This period which our government fought the drug war will be look upon as one of the dumbest, costly and harmful social experiments in America History.

PLEASE focus on the serious issues in California. How many murderers, thieves, rapists, and true drug dealers are there on the streets in Los Angeles? Do you really have the time to "smell" marijuana, make the arrests, fill out hours and hours of paperwork, push another 2+ people in an already massively crowded system? Do you really? And now the citizens who cannot even pay their rent or utilities will have to pay over 40K a year just in case they are incarcerated. PLEASE....focus on the real crimes!

Two groups of dummies squaring off in the deep valley - legalize MJ and remove both from the playing field.

HA HA HA HA

25 feet from the backdoor? wow

Valid medicinal value, it’s a victimless crime, the War on Drugs WAY too costly, too many arrests for simple possession, tax it and use the money to pay for health insurance and to reduce the deficit…Need I say more?
