Four Pomona men sleeping in garage with stolen property to face burglary charges

November 8, 2009 |  1:51 pm

Four men found sleeping in a garage stacked with stolen property were arrested Saturday morning and will face burglary charges this week, Pomona police said.

Officers were following up on a report by an area resident that electronics equipment had been taken from his home Friday night. Interviews with neighbors led police to the garage, where the four men, all Pomona residents, were found asleep surrounded by stolen items, some of it allegedly in their pockets.

The house next to the garage was believed to be the home of at least one of the suspects, police said.

After police moved the contents of the garage onto the driveway for photographing, another resident in the neighborhood told officers he recognized some of it as his and that it had been taken from his home.

Police identified the suspects as Salvador Escobedo Jr., 20; Rudi Almaguer, 23; Paul Drake, 22; and Jose Vian, 18. All were being held on $50,000 bail.
