Firefighters respond to brush fire above Glendora [Updated]

Firefighters are responding to a brush fire that has broken out in the foothills above Glendora, authorities said.

The blaze has burned about half an acre near Glendora Mountain Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Seven fire engines, four hand crews and three helicopters have been dispatched to the blaze, the department said.

[Updated, 9:45 p.m.: The fire has been knocked down, contained to the half-acre. Most units have left, but hand crews remain on the site.]
