November 5, 2009 | 10:32 pm

Deputies shot and wounded a suspect tonight after a car chase in Azusa, authorities said.

The pursuit began about 8:30 p.m. and ended a short while later near Orkney Street in the unincorporated section of Azusa, a city of about 45,000 east of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies confronted the suspect on Orkney, the department said. Investigators are at the scene. No other details were available.
