2 suspects sought in fatal shooting of San Pedro boy, 17

Police set up a perimeter around a San Pedro neighborhood today in search of two males suspected of fatally shooting a 17-year-old boy in the head.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Cabrillo Avenue, said Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.

Rayner said the assailants fled on foot and may have barricaded themselves inside a building.
