Robbery pursuit leads deputies to Centennial High School in Compton
A jewelry robbery led L.A. County sheriff's deputies on a car, helicopter and foot pursuit this morning that ended on the Centennial High School campus in Compton, authorities said.
Deputies responded to a 7:30 a.m. report that two men had taken a woman's jewelry by force on the street outside the school in the 2600 block of North Central Avenue, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Raul Regalado.
A helicopter in the air nearby followed the green Honda Civic the suspects were driving, and patrol cars chased the car into the high school parking lot.
Two men jumped out of the car and led authorities on a foot pursuit on the campus. Deputies arrested one man and were looking for the other.
