Local, state and federal agencies conduct Los Angeles County gang sweep

Los Angeles police, along with state and federal law enforcement, conducted a gang sweep early this morning in several different cities, authorities said.

The crackdown followed a 16-month-long investigation into gang activity throughout the county, said LAPD Officer Gregory Baek.

Most of the arrests will involve weapons and narcotics charges, Baek said.
