October 17, 2009 | 10:27 pm

Los Angeles County's coastal areas will be hit with heavy fog overnight, reducing visibility to a quarter-mile or less in some places, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are warning that the dense fog will stretch from Redondo Beach north to Malibu. Roads and freeways that could be affected include Pacific Coast Highway, as well as the San Diego, Harbor and Long Beach freeways.

The dense fog advisory will be in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday. Drivers are advised to slow down and use headlights.
