Anaheim substitute teacher arrested for allegedly having sex with student

An Anaheim substitute teacher has been arrested on charges of having sex with an underage student, police said today.

Marc Silberman, 27, was arrested Saturday night after a Savanna High School student told police that she had sexual contact with Silberman two days earlier, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

The girl told investigators that she had met Silberman when he was teaching at the high school, police said. Police declined to release the girl's age.

Silberman, an Anaheim resident, was booked on charges of sexual penetration with a foreign object and child annoyance, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at (714) 765-1623.

News sources shouldn't publish someone's photograph when things are "alleged". Nothing has been proven. Situations like this have happened before and on those rare cases where the victim is just making things up because she had a dumb school girl crush the suspects reputations is completely ruined. But you wont see the news reporting on that.

My parents met when my mother was 15 and my father 26. I think the age difference in this case is no big deal. However, I think it was unprofessional of Mr. Silberman to sleep with a student.

I knew/know this guy and I am in shock if what is alleged is true. He might come off as a flirt to some, but I thought he was smarter than this. Even for putting himself in a situation like this where he can get accused of something. It is kind of hard though nowadays because technically any adult can be charged and arrested for almost anything and in this case for sexual contact with a minor even if it's a tap on the arm. It all depends on how the other person takes it. Now in terms of sexual penetration with a foreign object, that is really broad and hopefully more specifics come out soon.

This is too soon to be put up on here. It's an accusation. I attended Savanna for 4 years and knew this teacher very well. He was a very kind teacher. I would have to agree that if he did engage in such acts it is wrong and he should be punished for it but this girl was obviously leading him on and wanted to have sex with him. For those of you that don't know our school...a piece of advice would be that the students are more harmful than the staff. And I stick with that 100% They both should be punished.

haha. honestly.. when i went to savanna all the girls had a crush on this guy.. when i was a senior i'd probably do him. what girl would put herself in that situation. not only that, but why'd she go to the police about it 2 days AFTER the fact. if she had a serious issue with it or it was something she didn't want she could've gone to the police immediately after.

Thank you Mike for calling my father a mental midget. My dad is a decorated Korean vet, worked at Douglas/Boeing for 30 years and raised 3 great children. I never thought of him as a mental midget. Back then and in a lot of cultures now age isn't a big deal. They are still married and will be celebrating their 51st anniversary in January.

I've a great idea.

Why not just execute anybody who gets accused of a crime or arrested without bothering to investigate the crime or have a trial?

It would save a lot of time and effort. Even better why not just publish a photograph of anyone accused of a crime and let the public administer justice in whatever way they feel like?

I'll tell you why not. Because it could happen to any of us. Anyone can make an accusation. Anyone can get arrested on suspicion. How would you like your photo in the paper for something that is merely under investigation?

I can't believe the legal system allows this outrage. It is tackling your civil liberties and right to a fair trial.

He wasn't even proved guilty yet people! Don't go making judgements! All it take's is one mad stupid girl to call the cops and ruin someone's life. So once we hear the verdict and it's Guilty then go ahead and judge but till then keep your traps shut :)
