Huntington Beach police officer arrested in spousal abuse case

A Huntington Beach police officer was arrested on suspicion of physically abusing his wife and girlfriend, the Orange County district attorney's office said today.

James Roberts III, 33, was charged with eight counts of false imprisonment by violence or deceit, three counts of criminal threats, two counts of domestic battery with corporal injury, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of dissuading a witness by force or threat and one count of vandalism causing $400 or more in damage, all felony charges.

The D.A. said Roberts pressured his wife not to report the incidents so he wouldn't lose his job.

Roberts is being held in lieu of 250,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned Friday, the D.A.'s office said.

It 's about time...
It 's about equal justice...
It 's about public trust that no one is above the law.

Who did this young buck think he was God!!! He is going to get what is coming to him. We as a society must know our limitations. I guess this young kid thought he could do it all without getting caught. What is really said about this whole situation is he is a COP, who is supposed to serve and protect the citizens in the communities. What another sad, sad day in Law Enforcement.

I feel sad for his wife and child.I hope that justice is served.

There are always two sides to the story.

As Wilma said "there are two sides to a story". Homerun and She-She don't be so quick to judge as you do not know the details of the story. This is a family being torn apart over this event.

Say goodbye to your job and 1/2 your retirement!

He has a Wife and Girlfriend?, what the heck is wrong with this picture......where are his ethical morals as a police officer, I'm shocked! he is suppose to be a role model not abusing his wife and especially not committing adultery! and he was worried about losing his job? he doesn't deserve to be a police officer, protect and serve your community with morals and values, major mistake for your career and life! even if you didn't abuse your wife, what are doing with a girlfriend.. what a waste to our society....

dont worry folks hell make a deal and get off , you watch , or if he really wants to get off , he should have his trial in riverside county , they are pretty good on letting there own off ,,

It's sad a young men and father will go to and jail lose his job. And it's sad a young mother's heart is that much brooken. What he did not aceptable. He shouldn't have an affair while his married. But marrige is not prison without parole. If it is not working both side should deal with it and set each other free.
