Brush fire breaks out in Murrieta

Riverside County firefighters are battling a 15-acre brush fire in Murrieta that prompted officials to evacuate several homes.

The blaze broke out just before noon near Skyhigh Drive and Skybreeze Court. Although it is not threatening homes, officials evacuated several houses on Bear Creek Drive as a precaution, said Jody Hagemann, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
