Two people were injured this morning when their cars collided, sending one of the cars crashing through the front window of a downtown restaurant, authorities said.

The motorists -- a man in his late 40s to early 50s and a woman in her 40s -- sustained "minor to moderate injuries" during the accident at about 5.45 a.m. at 7th and Flower streets, according to Melissa Kelley, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Both drivers were transported to a hospital for treatment.

[Updated at 12:39 p.m: The restaurant is the Wokcano Asian Restaurant & Lounge at 800 W. 7th St.]

"The car went through the glass," Kelley said. "There was no structural damage."
