Sherman Oaks woman robbed after advertising on Craigslist

August 18, 2009 | 10:46 pm

A Sherman Oaks woman who advertised herself as a masseuse on Craigslist was robbed tonight by two men who told her they were responding to the ad, police said.

The men tied up the woman, pointed a handgun at her and robbed her of undisclosed items, said Officer Karen Raynor of the Los Angeles Police Department. The woman lived in the 4700 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard.

After the men left, the woman was able to break free of the bindings and call police about 8:30 p.m.

She was not injured. Police said the incident was under investigation and did not release the name of the woman.

SIGN OF THE TIMES, THERE WAS AN INCIDENT NOT TO LONG AGO CONCERNING CRAIGSLIST ON THE EAST COAST,DOESN'T ANYONE READ ANYMORE OR HAVE WE FORGOTTEN HOW. BEFORE U HIRE YOURSELF OFF IN CYBER SPACE (INVESTIGATE,PLAN,KNOW) BE SAFE!

I would hate to be the neighbor of a Craigslist "masseuse" with drugged-up pistol packing tricks and johns showing up at all hours of the day and night. Where's the vice-squad anymore?

It sounds like a high risk occupation.
