One killed and another wounded in Long Beach shooting

A man was killed and a woman injured early this morning in what Long Beach police believe was a gang-related shooting.

The two were standing outside a home in the 1100 block of East 16th Street when a male walked up to them around 12:30 a.m. and started shooting, police said. They were taken to a hospital where the man was pronounced dead.

The woman was treated and released, authorities said.

The victims’ names have not been released and police have not released a description of the male suspect.

Anyone with information can call Long Beach police at (562) 570-7244.
