Man accused of punching 13-year-old during youth soccer game

An Oxnard man was arrested by police for allegedly punching a 13-year-old playing a youth soccer game. 

The incident occurred in Ventura at the end of the game, when a fight broke out, according to the Ventura County Star:

Efrain Flores, the brother of one player involved in the melee Saturday afternoon at Community Park, was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and abuse and disturbing the peace. Flores remained in  Ventura County Jail on Saturday evening. Bail was set at $25,000.

Police said a fight erupted around 1:30 p.m. at the end of the game. Flores ran onto the field and blindsided the 13-year-old victim, striking him in the face and nose area with his fist and knocking him to the ground. Other adults watching were able to stop the assault, police said.
