Firefighters quickly snuff out brush fire on Los Angeles-Ventura county border

August 23, 2009 |  5:32 pm

A brush fire that burned eight acres near the Los Angeles County-Ventura County border was put out today in less than two hours, authorities said.

The fire started burning near the 24000 block of Bell Canyon Road about 2 p.m., said Devin Gales of the Los Angeles Fire Department. No one was injured and no buildings or homes were harmed, he said.

Gales said the fire burned in steep terrain and could have been caused by a traffic collision near the brush area. He said investigators were continuing to look into the cause.

The fire was out by 3:45 p.m., Gales said.
