Deputies fatally shoot party-goer who pointed a gun at them

August 8, 2009 | 12:59 pm

A Cudahy man who pulled a gun on sheriff’s officials as they were trying to disperse a house party in Lynwood was shot and killed by deputies Friday night, a Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman said today.

The man was identified as Guillermo Saucedo, 23, said L.A. County coroner's spokesman Lt. Joe Bale. A preliminary investigation showed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds, Bale said.

Deputies arrived at the house in the 12700 block of Waldorf Drive around 11:30 p.m. and were ushering out guests when the suspect “made a furtive movement and began walking away from the deputies,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

As the deputies tried to catch up to Saucedo, he pulled out a handgun, the statement said.

“Considering there were numerous guests at the party, deputies did not fire at the suspect,” the statement said. Instead, the deputies tried to grab the man’s hands. During the brawl, the handgun fell to the ground, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The man recovered the gun and pointed it at the deputies, the statement said. At that point, one or more deputies shot him.

Sierra said the Sheriff’s Department gets numerous calls each weekend to break up noisy parties throughout the county, but she couldn’t say how often the situation escalates into violence.

The investigation into the shooting involves the homicide and internal affairs bureaus of the Sheriff’s Department, the district attorney’s office, and the county’s Office of Independent Review, she said.

Respect to the restrain showed by the officers involved as long as possible.

Thank your LASO, you've reduced the Cholo population by one...your work is not done yet.

Thank you Deputies for trying to resolve the situation as peacefully as possible. The suspect clearly dictated the outcome of this incident. Whether he was intoxicated or high, he decided his outcome and you guys did an A+ job on keeping everyone else safe. Thanks again for the job you do. You are all appreciated!

One more thug off the street, essentially by his own hand. Too bad we can't get that number up to 100 or 1000 a day.

OH MIJO!

The idiocy and vulgarity of the LA times web-readers
surpasses itself once again.
Maybe huevon Zell has lowered the Times to the correct level.

Come on people, he is still human and with a mother, have a little respect at least for the family. You people should not even say anything if you dont know the facts and what really went down that day....
