Bear roams through San Dimas neighborhood, jumps in pool

August 12, 2009 |  5:45 pm

San Dimas Bear

A large bear spent Wednesday afternoon roaming through a San Dimas neighborhood, hiding in a tree, romping across patios and scaling backyard walls as animal control officers tried to get the animal back into the wild.

The bear was seen around Terrabone Avenue about 1:30 p.m. KABC-TV Channel 7 showed live video of the animal traversing backyards and walking down the center of a road.

The bear appeared at one point to move away from homes, then roamed back into the neighborhood.

KABC estimated that the animal weighed 375 to 400 pounds and said authorities fired nonlethal rubber bullets at it. KTLA News reported that the bear cooled off by jumping into a swimming pool.

Sometimes nature fights back.
Coyotes know fat domestic cats can be delicious morsels.Crocodiles know inquisitive little dogs are tasty.Mountain Lions like to change their diets and take out the stray long distance runner.
Wolves like nice healthy steers which are large, slow moving, weak eyed, and yummy. But lazy bears just like trash.

Eek! I was actually having a conversation about bears yesterday with a friend. We were saying how thankful we were there were no bears in the area. So much for that. I would love to see a picture of that bear jumping in a pool.

good for the bear.

Awwww he just wanted to go swimmin!!

Bears like nature boys. Bears like all dat.
