Sepulveda Boulevard reopened after brush fire

Authorities Thursday reopened Sepulveda Boulevard and two 405 Freeway ramps that had been shut down shortly after a brush fire erupted near the Getty Center on Wednesday.

Freeway offramps for the Getty and the Skirball Center were reopened Thursday afternoon, CHP Officer Jose Nunez said. City traffic officials also reopened Sepulveda Boulevard, which had been closed from Mulholland Drive to Sunset Boulevard.

The blaze broke out Wednesday around 12:45 p.m., causing museum officials to evacuate hundreds of visitors. Dozens more were evacuated from Mount Saint Marys College. Fire authorities said the fire is 100% contained and has burned about 80 acres. At least two firefighters were injured, saidLos Angeles Firefighter Lauren deRosier. A Los Angeles County camp crew firefighter was airlifted Thursday around 4 p.m. for possible heat exhaustion. A firefighter on Wednesday suffered a minor foot injury, he said.
