July 1, 2009 |  5:34 pm

A 29-year-old sailor was found dead at Camp Pendleton, and a "person of interest" is being held at the brig at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, officials said Wednesday.

Seaman August Provost of Houston was found dead in a guard shack on the base at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Provost was assigned to the Assault Craft Unit Five at the base, a unit that takes combat Marines ashore in high-speed craft.

No charges have been filed. The name of the person being held was not released.
