Man thought to be homeless found dead on Hollywood street

July 19, 2009 |  9:40 am

Los Angeles police investigators were looking into the death of an apparently homeless man whose body was found on a Hollywood sidewalk, authorities said today.

A passerby called police about 10:50 p.m. Saturday to report that the man was lying unconscious outside a building at El Centro Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard. Police said the man appeared to be homeless.

"When officers arrived, they saw that the man had a wound to his upper torso," Los Angeles Police Department officer Rosario Herrera said. She said it was unknown whether the man was shot or stabbed.

Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, authorities said.

It would be nice if maybe you could mention some tatoos, or anything that might possibly identify this person, especially for those that have loved ones that are missing.
