I just killed my wife: Deputies find woman's body after husband calls to confess

UPDATE: Lt. Dan Rosenberg of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department identified Michelle Lu's husband as James Lu, 85, and said investigators recovered a hatchet from the scene of the crime. Rosenberg said investigators believe Lu used the hatchet to kill his wife, and he was arrested on suspicion of murder. Rosenberg described the incident as a "very, very tragic situation."

Sometime around 1:30 a.m. today, Michelle Lu’s husband called authorities and made a startling confession: He said he had just killed his wife, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

After the phone call, sheriff’s deputies went to a home in the 100 block of Rosemead Boulevard, in an unincorporated area between Pasadena and Arcadia. There they found Lu, 55, with multiple stab wounds, according to the department.

Lu died at the scene. Sheriff’s officials did not release any further information about the suspect or his motive.
