Freeway ramps to close for Michael Jackson events
The California Department of Transportation will close several freeway ramps in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday to ease traffic congestion during the Michael Jackson memorial event.
Two ramps to the 110 Freeway will be closed -- the southbound ramp at Olympic Boulevard and the northbound Pico Boulevard ramp.
The 134 Freeway will see closures as well. The eastbound Riverside
Drive and Forest Lawn Drive ramp will be closed, as will the westbound Forest Lawn Drive ramp.
Officials warn that additional ramps may be closed if needed.
Authorities will monitor traffic to determine the appropriate time to close the ramps on the 134 and 110 freeways, said Kelly Markham of Caltrans.
"The idea here is to make the traffic flow as smoothly as possible -- and if ramp closures will do that, then that's what we'll do," Markham said.
Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

I find this whole thing very frustrated as a resident who just wants to avoid the whole thing. What streets will be closed and when, including the freeways? What time are these ramps closed? Tuesday is a pretty broad timeframe.
Is there a good source for this info?

134 at Forest Lawn and Riverside?!?? How is this going to help conjestion originating in downtown? The 134 runs through the valley from the 101 across Glendale and Eagle Rock into Pasadena. That makes about as much sense as randomly choosing ramps on the 405 or the 2 and closing them to "help the traffic flow as smoothly as possible". Way to go Los Angeles, you've successfully turned a tragedy into a charade, all while doing your best to cater to an over obsessed crowd of thousands at the expense of hundreds of millions.
