Family will hold private service for Michael Jackson at Forest Lawn
A private family service for Michael Jackson will occur Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills, sources have told The Times.
The service will take place about two hours before a grand public memorial featuring Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and others takes place at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Sources said some family members will start at the Jackson family compound in Encino and go to the cemetery before going to Staples. It's unclear whether there will be a procession from the cemetery to Staples, though sources said law enforcement is against such an idea.
There are still no details available about Jackson's funeral.

Can the tax payers of L.A. pay for that also?
Pretty please!!!

Oh please - the hordes of vultures will now descend on Forest Lawn cemetery instead of the Staples Center.
I just heard on CNN that the family service is at the Staples Center at 8 a.m. followed by the public memorial service. How can so much misinformation get out there? Which is it?
And did all these media people and attorneys they interview not read the will? I'm not an attorney but I understand what it says.
It puts the estate into a trust - which will not go through probate or be public at the courthouse like a will would be.
It says in part VI of the will:
"Except as otherwise provided in this Will or in the Trust referred to in Article III I have intentionally omitted to provide for my heirs. I have intentionally omitted to provide for my former wife, DEBORAH JEAN ROWE JACKSON."
In other words - his money goes to a trust and the trust will then distribute to his heirs and possibly the x wife. Can't people read "omitted to provide for my heirs?" That's Mom and the kids and charities and who knows who else?
EVERYONE is left out of the will except the Michael Jackson Family Trust. That is typical of a trust.
We have a Joe Smith family trust. The trust gives to the heirs. The will does not.
Duh!

Well, once you've announced it, hasn't it ceased to be private? I mean, isn't this what everyone has been pointing out? The Jackson camp for years manufactured its own news about him and the press scooped it up. Same here. Expect mass hysteria.

You have to be kidding me!! They are going to not only bury him in a cemetery that is almost as famous as Arlington but you are telling everyone about it. Yeah he wont be disturbed the rest of his everlasting. If you thought he was hounded while alive just wait until he is buried where every moron, nut case and zealot in this world knows where he is resting. You know LA......I am getting a little tired of standing up for you people when the rest of the world calls you a bunch of flakes. Get a grip.

Some press releases are saying the coffin and his remains will be displayed in Staples during the memorial show.
This is obscene.

First of all, that is a cemetery where lots of stars are buried and is not open to the general public. No one can just walk up to his plot. In fact, they don't even reveal whose where at that cemetery except to the family. Also, there is HEAVY security there. Get your facts straight and don't speculate! Thank you!

If it was up to Joe Jackson, they would have MJ moonwalk out of his coffin at Staples - they talk about dignity - BS - its about ' how much money can we wring from his 'fans' and they will do whatever to make a dime. A great, significant talent for his generation without question, but that aside - the attention is 5 miles over the top. The games will really begin with the courtroom sagas which will fill the media's attention for quite some time into the future.

I'm sorry "Family Friend" but you must have never been to Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills. My Wife is buried there and anyone can enter and anyone can go to any part of it. They may do something special for MJ's tomb, but there is not guarded gate or security to pass through. So do your homework.
