Carson authorities to grill bacon hot dog vendors tonight
Here's one of the stories that KTLA Channel 5 News is planning for its 10 p.m. broadcast:
FOOD VENDOR BAN: The Anschutz Entertainment Group, or AEG -- promoters of Michael Jackson's unrealized comeback tour and the owners of the Home Depot Center -- is declaring war on bacon-wrapped hot dogs. The entertainment corporation has persuaded Carson officials to ban street vendors from selling the popular snacks around the Home Depot Center. Tonight, code enforcement officers are planning to conduct a widespread sweep. Their goal is to show vendors that they are no longer welcome in the area. Fans won't be too happy...expect for a good food-fight.

These people are just trying to make a living, go after the fat politicians that just suck the state dry.

Its about time someone took the leadership roll against illegal vendors. Those code enforcement guys need to come to LA and clean all of them out. Problem is we have a bunch of politicans who have no clue the public health issue involved with these illegal vendors. Businesses in LA are going down because they can't compete with $2 hot dog. Good good good and I hope they wipe them out.

So what's next... closing fast food places within a 3 mile radius? Another case of a greedy company wanting to kill the competition.
I think I'll have a bacon-wrapped right now!

Eventhough those bacon-wrapped hotdogs are delicious, I agree that they need to stop. It's very unhealthy, and very unsanitary to be selling that in the streets.

If they really wanted to keep them away they would have the ICE checking immigration status in conjunction with the health inspectors.

that is very lame.

riiiiiight, mask your immigrant hate with comments about health risks and competition for other vendors. if they were white citizens, some of you wouldn't be saying a damn thing. these guys are trying to make a living selling something the public wants; you can't blame fans for not wanting to be gouged at the food stands inside the stadium. most are aware of the risk of eating at stands and continue do so anyway. btwm i've never been sick eating from a stand, but i have from licensed fast food establishments.
way to crush capitalism, city of carson and aeg; i'm never going to another home depot event.

I have no problem with the Vendors if they have gone thru the proper channels and gotten all of the proper permits to sell food on the street. But why should I have sympathy for them, when they are cheating the system while I am paying my taxes and doing things the right way.
You say they are just trying to make a buck. Well I am too. And if I am paying for insurance and health permits and sales tax and myriad of other things and they can just walk up and start selling then who is the one that is truly getting screwed? The guy who is trying to do the right thing.
So I say clean them all out. I don't care if they are citizens or illegal immigrants. I'm glad somebody is standing up for the small businesses who are trying to create jobs.
