Brush fire burning at Camp Pendleton scorches 1,300 acres

A brush fire has burned 1,300 acres in the northeastern section of Camp Pendleton, but no structures are threatened, and no evacuations have been ordered, Marine Corps officials said today.

The fire is 50% contained. Flames were first spotted about 2 p.m. Saturday.

No cause has been determined.
