Man's body found at Anaheim construction site

July 4, 2009 |  2:33 pm

The body of a man who had been shot in the chest was found this morning at an Anaheim construction site, police said.

The body was discovered at 4:15 a.m. by a man who was searching the area for materials to recycle, said Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department. He said the site, located in the 900 block of East South Street, was closed because of a construction project.

"Right now, we have very little to go on," said Martinez, explaining that the victim had not been identified and that no arrests had been made. The body, he said, had been at the site for "just a few hours."

Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives at (714) 765-1944.
