Amber Alert for four children extends to California

If you're driving on the freeway and see one of those Amber Alert signs lighted up, it's because law enforcement authorities are looking for a Las Vegas woman suspected of abducting her four children.

Why are we wasting people's time and care for some family dispute? The kids are not in danger that makes future amber alert less meaningful. A mom wants to be with her own four kids, wow, how unnatural in our society?!

How do you know they're not in danger? My understanding is that amber alerts are only issued when there's a belief of existing immediate risk.
