Westside dominates list of high-income L.A. neighborhoods

For anyone who doubts the Westside is where Los Angeles' money lives, data for The Times' Mapping L.A. project might put those doubts to rest. The data show that Westside neighborhoods make up eight of the 10 areas with the highest median household income in the city of Los Angeles (Bel-Air, not surprisingly, leads the way). There is a little more geographic diversity in the Top 20 list, with places like Hancock Park, Granada Hills and Encino joining the list.
Median household income reports the amount of money earned by the household that falls exactly in the middle of the pack.
- 1. Bel-Air $208,861
- 2. Beverly Crest $168,104
- 3. Pacific Palisades $168,008
- 4. Porter Ranch $121,428
- 5. Brentwood $112,927
- 6. Cheviot Hills $109,980
- 7. Hollywood Hills West $108,199
- 8. Beverlywood $105,253
- 9. West Hills $103,012
- 10. Century City $95,135

For a news medium that supposedly serves all of the area, it is disappointing that you do not cover other cities. We live here, but we don't live in the city of LA. We do not like to be ignored.
