Quake rattles northern San Luis Obispo County

A light earthquake rattled northern San Luis Obispo County early this morning, setting off car alarms and a slew of calls to police, but no damage has been reported, officials said.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the magnitude 4.4 quake struck at 5:32 a.m. and was centered about eight miles southwest of Lake Nacimiento and about 15 miles west of Paso Robles.

San Luis Obispo County Sgt. Steve Himmelrich said that dispatchers felt the quake and that several people called to confirm that an earthquake had occurred.

“Some people need reassurance,”  Himmelrich said. “You’d think they’d be used to it by now; they’re living in earthquake country.”

Himmelrich said there were no reports of damage or injury.

Hi,
Texas was rocked by mild tremors in the last fortnight, which has not happened for over 100 year says a press release few days back & now Central California has been rocked by moderate quakes. Simultaneously Medeterranian & Indonesia have been rocked. I am an Alumni of Un. of Toronto M.A.Sc. (1966) & have been observing the occurance of Earthquakes for the last three decades & am of the opinion that frequency of deadly quakes increases in the Second half of the Year when the Sun Travels in the Southern Hemisphere. For details you may refer to my web site www.vastuengineer.com. which primarily deals topics like Philosophy, Spiritulism, Astrology, Meditation etc.
