Michael Jackson's death: Jermaine Jackson speaks

Jermaine At a brief news conference in the auditorium of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center this evening,  Jermaine Jackson sighed audibly several times before addressing reporters.

“This is hard,” he said softly. “My brother, the legendary King of Pop, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 2:26 p.m.... It is believed he passed away of cardiac arrest.”

He said Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Tohme R. Tohme, was with him at the house and had tried to resuscitate him. He said paramedics also tried to revive his brother and “upon arriving at the hospital at 1:14 p.m., a team of doctors, including emergency physicians and a cardiologist, worked to resuscitate him for a period of more than one hour but were unsuccessful.“

Jackson said a definitive cause of death would not be known until an autopsy is performed.

“May Allah be with you, Michael, always,” Jermaine Jackson said, ending the news conference.

UCLA officials did not say anything about Michael Jackson.

“We’re respecting the family’s wishes with respect to the patients’ privacy,” said hospital spokeswoman Roxanne Moster.

During the news conference, fans in the hospital courtyard lit candles and sang Michael Jackson songs.

The Sun in the UK is reporting that he stopped breathing after an injection of demerol, a very powerful morphine like painkiller. The source went on to say Michael was addicted to this drug. According to the Sun, the source was inside the home when Jackson died.

I have always loved Michael as a little girl! My drean was to see him. God knows what is best and I will see him agin one day...May God Bless and be with the family!! Luv U Michael.

ALLAH...MICHAEL WE WONT EVER FORGET YOU !!!

Allah?
I thought he was a Jehovah's Witiness

Michael Jackson, like Elvis, will never die but live on,and on and on. Its a sad sad day in the world. he will be missed.

M.Jackson..is not a Jehovah's Witness. When he was younger yea..but not now. Some of his family is.

There are now 3 kings in heaven, the creator, Elvis and Michael.. what a life we have all seen and experienced.
Although never a big fan his music makes my heart fill with sorrow and heaviness. God, look after him and let him sing where ever he is.

We Muslim cant forget you. U have proved that music is Haram 4 all humankind. May Allah forgive all sins of Michael and give a place in Heaven. Allah bless u.

rip micheal u will always be in my heart. my prayers go out to the jackson family

I thought this quote was an apt way to describe Michael and his view of the world:

Music has been my outlet, my gift to all of the lovers in this world. Through it — my music, I know I will live forever.
~Michael Jackson on his work, Ebony Magazine December 2007.

I really hope generations to come will still understand the charm and integrity Mr. Jackson had in is legendary body of work. May the world mourn.

I am just so heart broken over the death of Michael Jackson, this is really a sad day, it's like loosing a really close family member. I met the Jackson Five many years ago In St. Louis after a concert, Michael was a little boy. There will never be another Michael Jackson or an entertainer like him in this life time, he will be truly missed. A year from now on this day will everyone remember what they were doing when they got the news.

Michael, you never die, just move to better place. . . forever you.

I am a muslim, too MUHAMMAD WAQAS SHAMS. Is music haram? Are we reading the same Kur'an? What kind of comment is it? "U have proved that music is Haram 4 all humankind. " You must be crazy! Where are you from!!!!

Jermaine has been a Muslim for about 20 years now, and I understood a couple of years ago Michael had converted as well - he didn't react well to how "Christians" had treated him after his trial, and he took his kids and went to live in Bahrain. This is why I don't believe there will be a funeral for Michael. I believe he will be either buried or cremated immediately and there will be a memorial service for those of us who loved him. This is not fact this is just what I believe.

Free at last!! Rest in peace good one!

I am deeply saddened by the news of this loss. Michael Jackson was a legendary icon who felt like someone I’ve grown up with from childhood. His music influenced everything we hear today, the 1st black star to hit mtv, he was truly the greatest performing artist of my lifetime an there will be no other greater than MJ himself! Muslim or not, he deserves a dignified burial. Alot of jokes have been made already about his death, all I have to say upon this matter is what goes around, definatley does come around. The man was MISUNDERSTOOD and most importantly INNOCENT. Do your research and you’ll find he was acquitted of the charges of child molestation, not to mention remained adament of his innocence, the people who brought the charges against him were money hungry! May Allah grant him Jannat.

May God be with the Jacksons and his family and close friends. Lord also be with us, his fans who will miss him very deeply and very badly. God Bless us all and comfort us all. I love you Michael, I only wish I had told you this before you passed. Kisses..

Today is such a sad day for millions of fans & all people to loved Michael Jackson. I will have a somber day thinking of all the periods in my life which are represented by one of his fantastic songs, R.I.P. xx

May ur soul R I P, Michael

Anyone who reads The Sun newspaper (or any other of Mr Murdoch's 'news' outlets) is an idiot. Micheal Jacksons was a true legend and one of the greatest musical icons ever, he will be sorely missed.

He's still BAD and you know it!!!!!!
