Man struck and killed by bus in Venice

June 1, 2009 |  6:59 pm

A 30-year-old man crossing South Pacific Avenue in Venice was hit and killed by a bus that dragged him “a short distance,” said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales.

Firefighters responded to a call at 4:32 p.m. and pronounced the man dead at the scene, Gales said. There were no passengers on board at the time.

The 51-year-old bus driver, who was shaken up by the accident, was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition, Gales said.
