LAX construction will take away sidewalk, vehicle lane through September

Portions of the sidewalks and roadway in the lower-level arrival area at LAX will be closed through the summer due to a construction project.
LAX officials are urging passengers to allow extra time to get through the airport and expect some traffic congestion at peak times.
The work is occurring today through Sept. 30 around the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
"This will result in the closure of the vehicle lane closest to the sidewalk to facilitate pedestrians as they make their way between [Bradley] and Terminals Three and Four," according to an LAX statement.

As many know, LAX has one of the smallest foot prints of any major airport in the USA. The real auto traffic issue caused by the construction related lane closure will occur during higher periods of activity. Unlike many major airports, LAX still allows all of the big rolling billboards (I mean buses) to compete for the very limited curb space. This must change...
Over four years ago there was a court settlement to allow expediting a consolidated rental car facility. It still hasn't happened.
