Car rams police station; 2 to be charged in wreck that injured child
Los Angeles police said two sisters would be charged with assault after one of them rammed her SUV into the rear of the Newton Community Police Station on South Central Avenue, seriously injuring a 4-year-old passenger in the SUV.
A Ford Explorer careened into the station about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, police say. The 49-year-old driver and the 33-year-old passenger, both from North Hollywood, were injured. Both remained hospitalized Monday; their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The girl, the daughter of the passenger, was not wearing a seat belt and was pinned against the windshield in the crash. Officers tore through the wreckage to free her. The girl, who was taken off life support and breathing on her own Monday, was in critical but stable condition at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
The women's names were not released because they were still in the hospital and had not been formally charged. Upon their release, they are to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment, said Capt. Mark Olvera.

How in the hell do you crash into the police station? These two idiots need to be locked up for the rest of there sorry lives.

Crazy behavior - the non-restrained child, plus violent rage this is a bad combination. Glad no innocent pedestrians or policemen were injured. Cars are deadly weapons (just like guns) when used recklessly!

Oh yeah, In the Trenches, that would be a brilliant idea...to have the city sued for millions. How in the heck can you lock up a passenger in a vehicle who's driver crashes into a police station? Grow a brain.

I'm just waiting for someone to blame this on the LAPD or LASD...

How does anyone know they "rammed" into the police station? Maybe the driver lost control of the SUV and it was an accident.

It doesn't state what happened, how their vehicle lost control like that to ram a building. Did the accelerator stick?
What did they do wrong? What, now if you get into an accident with a kid in it you're automatically charged? This isn't right, if so.
If driving with a kid is such a liability, it's best to let a certified bus driver drive them. Does one need a commercial drivers license now to drive a kid, this is getting ridiculous.

why did this happen? what is the story?

This four year old little girl was not in a car seat and was not secured in any way. That is child endangerment. Car seats are required so if any kind of accident occurs the child has some protection and will not fly around the car crashing inside against
anything, like a windshield.
Regardless of the cause of the crash, the endangement charge is valid. The adults did not protect the child.
A four year old little girl? What could be more precious? She needs love and care. I hope she gets that now.

The child wasn't restrained. That's the crime.

Assalut for 'ramming" the station? I don't know about that, but kid in the car not wearing a seat belt? I woild call that child endangerment.
