Funeral for Farrah Fawcett today in downtown L.A.

June 30, 2009 | 10:13 am

A private funeral Mass will be said this afternoon for actress Farrah Fawcett at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles.

The “Charlie’s Angels” star died Thursday of a rare cancer at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge issued an ordered that would allow Fawcett’s 24-year-old son, Redmond O’Neal, who has been jailed on a pair of drug-related cases, to attend her funeral. O’Neal will be able to wear civilian clothes and will be accompanied by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

After the funeral, O’Neal will be returned to Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, where he is undergoing what the Sheriff’s Department calls an “intense drug rehabilitation program.”

I wish REdmond lots of strength with the passing of his beloved mother Farrah Fawcett. Fight the fight Redmond, you can do it as a tribute to your mom !

Redmond, I REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE BORN, In looking back thru photos of years past, your Mothers smile was of uniquness on the very first photo released of the 2 of you.
RED, She will always be their.
Greg

I hope that Redmond takes the love that his Mother had for him and pulls his strength from that to change is life around...for her.

I remember when Farrah exploded onto the scene with Charlie's Angels. Her beauty was so mesmerizing, nobody could take their eyes off of her! I am sure she has transcended to a better place, she deserves to be in a good place.

To all of Ms. Fawcett,s family and friends: We have all lost a great actress and one who has showed great strength in her battel with cancer. May you one day find peace in your soul. I have lost family like you and we can know that now she is a ture ANGEL and will always be watching over you.
Forever an Angel, Farrah!!!!!!!!

Addiction is a horrible disease, this has got to be the hardest lesson ever learned from the choice to use drugs. The only child of this remarkable woman who used every once of strength to fight this battle could not be there for her as she fought a valiant fight to save her life, he chose to get high rather than support her, he chose to get high and and could not be at her side as she passed away. Because of poor choices, he will have the rest of his life to reflect, that his Mom died and he had somthing else more important to do was that high worth it?

God Bless and Ms. Fawcett was a assest to the Television/Film industry. But, you fight against cancer was so classy and it showed her true Color. Thank you.

I think it's sad about FARRAH/ What's even sadder is the enabling that his druggie father gave to him. Ryan has been a drug freak for many years. No wonder poor sick Farrah dumped him years ago. Poor Redmond got his start from his father.
RYAN IS A REAL JERK.

Fawcett was not a great actress,, only fair. But I am sorry she passed away. i cannot imagine how terrible this feels for Redmond, being imprisoned as his Mom lays deceased. Drug charges or not, i feel so sorry for Redmond. My prayers are with all involved in this sad , sad, aituation.

As a young girl growing up in the 70s, Farrah was my idol. I had Farrah dolls, Charlie's Angels trading cards, fan magazines and my best attempt at "Farrah Hair." When I played Charlie's Angels with my friends, I insisted on being Farrah. Now that Farrah is gone, I realize that she is still my idol, but for different reasons; not for the Hollywood reasons that mattered in my childhood. I hope to live my adult life fighting for the things that matter to me the most with the same zest, courage and strength that Farrah used to fight for her life. If we all used a fraction of the "Farrah Factor" in our lives, the world would be a much better place. Thank you Farrah, for being an wonderful role model. God bless you.

Farrah`s in a better place. She was a sweet, good hearted woman all through her life. Someday, you will be reunited with her. I`m 46 and feel as if I lost a part of my growing up years. I had such a crush on Farrah, she was all I could rhink about. She was the perfect picture of vitality, youthfulness, and health. Just remember people and be careful of what you say to others. They may not be here tomorrow when you want to say "I`m sorry". God bless.
