A man in the Green Meadows area of South Los Angeles was shot to death late Saturday, police said.
Los Angeles police said the man was standing in front of a liquor store near 92nd Street and Central Avenue when an unknown number of men in one car drove by and started shooting about 10:50 p.m.
The victim, whose name was not released, was shot in the head and neck and taken to a hospital, where he died, said police Officer Bruce Borihanh.
Police believe the incident was gang-related.

That is so sad. My condolences to his family and friends. My husband and I used to walk around there (in 2001). Why isn't it called "South Central" anymore? Sounds better to say "South Los Angeles.?

My sympathy goes out to you, your unborn son, family, and friends. I only had the pleasure to know you for a short while, but my short lived encounters with you will greatly be missed! I know you're in a better place, because I know personally you had a relationship with GOD! And I will hold in my heart the last words you spoke to me, "THE SKY IS THE LIMIT" !!!
