Man found shot to death in South Gate

Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man whose body was found Thursday night in the 5300 block of Ledgewood Road in South Gate.

The victim, described as an adult Latino, was discovered shortly after 10 p.m., according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Details of the man’s identity and how he was found were not disclosed.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were assisting the South Gate Police Department in investigating the circumstances of the death.
