Encino man found dead in spa

A 73-year-old Encino man apparently drowned in his backyard spa, the Los Angeles Fire Department said Sunday.

Carl Reid's body was found in the spa by family members about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities said. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said paramedics who responded to Reid's residence in the 5100 block of Louise Avenue pronounced him dead at the scene. The coroner’s office would determine the man’s cause of death, he added.
