Driver dies crashing into parked car

May 3, 2009 |  5:43 pm

A 49-year-old Los Angeles resident was killed early today when he crashed his vehicle into a parked car just north of USC, officials said.

He was driving east on Adams Boulevard in a tan Mercedes about 12:45 a.m. when he struck a jeep on the side of the road near Orchard Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Francisco Feliciano. The crash set off a chain reaction that damaged five other parked cars.

“He just lost control of his vehicle,” Feliciano said.

No other injuries were reported. The name of the driver was not given.
