Compton woman killed in car crash near LAX
A 23-year-old Compton woman was killed after crashing her car on the La Cienega Boulevard overpass at the 405 Freeway in Inglewood today, officials said. Police said Tameka Ballou was driving southbound on La Cienega just north of Florence Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. when she lost control of her car. A 23-year-old female passenger was injured; she was transported to a local hospital and was in stable condition, police said. "It’s unknown if [Ballou] was going to transition and get onto the 405," said Inglewood Police Lt. Steve Overly. "There’s a little bit of a bend in the road there. … She may have hit the curb and some of the side railing." Ballou died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved. -- Corina Knoll

This was my neighbor. A beautiful young woman with a lovely 2-year old daugher. God bless her surviving child and the rest of her family. Give them the strength to make it through this very tragic time. I hope that they know that HE will never put for on them than they can bear.

Tameka was my good friend Keira sister-in-law. I am devastated that she has passed at such a young age. My prays go out to the family during this tragic time. Just keep the man above first and he would keep his arms around all of u during this time.
