KTLA weather: We're getting warmer

Cold temperatures continued across Southern California -- especially in the valleys and mountains -- this morning. Skies are clear, and they’ll remain that way for the rest of the day. A major warm-up is forecast to begin today as high pressure builds over California.

On average, temperatures will be 10 degrees warmer than Wednesday, with most readings in the 70s. Friday’s weather will see highs above 80 degrees in the valleys while downtown Los Angeles reaches the upper 70s.

The calendar says April, but this weekend will feel more like July. A big ridge of high pressure will set up over California, bringing bright, sunny skies and the warmest temperatures so far this year. Highs will be in the mid 80s in Los Angeles while some of the valleys will climb into the low 90s both Saturday and Sunday.

More details and the seven-day outlook at KTLA's weather blog.
