Power outage hits Sherman Oaks

About 2,600 Sherman Oaks residents are without power, according to officials from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The outage began just before noon, said DWP spokeswoman Stephanie Interiano. It was originally reported that about 880 customers were without power.

Officials said they traced the problem to a tree limb knocked into an electrical wire, possibly by the winds.

Crews are working to restore the power.
