Porn star Marilyn Chambers found dead in L.A. County home
Marilyn Chambers, a former Ivory Snow detergent model who became a porn star, died Sunday at her Canyon Country home. She was 56.
Chambers, whose real name is Marilyn Ann Taylor, was found unresponsive at 8:51 p.m. at her residence it the 16000 block of Vasquez Canyon, said Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman Ed Winter. The cause of death is under investigation but foul play was not suspected and an autopsy is pending.
Chambers became a pop culture phenomenon when she gave up work as a model advertising Ivory Snow laundry detergent to star in the X-rated "Behind the Green Door" in 1972.
The movie also sparked a buying frenzy on boxes of Ivory Snow soap, then graced by Chambers' angelically complexioned face.

Very sad, hope she enjoys hell.

>>>you should know that it is not your place to be judgemental
Yes it is our place to judge in righteousness. If we don't or a can't judge good from evil; right from wrong then we are deceived. And if we are deceived how can we discern holiness. And without holiness "no one shall see the Lord"
>>why don't you say a prayer for her soul with all of your might?
There is no longer any hope; thus prayer 'for her soul" are useless at this point. Repentance from evil is for this life only. Judgment with its rewards or consequences are reserved for the hereafter.
>> Are you GOD?
No, but we stand in His place on earth to judge right from wrong. We are His salt and light. If you are not in the light, then you are in the darkness and unable to see where you are going. And like Marilyn, will walk right into that pit; forever confined from which there is no hope.
Marilyn lived and walked in spiritual darkness as is all those who lift her up as a "standard".

What to make of her? By all accounts, Chambers was a pretty decent even ordinary person whose profession was pornography. What I saw of her stuff was not brutal, vicious or sadistic porn and she had no stunt like Ms Lovelace. In fact, her porn was rather nicely done. But she really awakens rage in people and under their rage seems to be some deep terror of her as if she had the power to destroy civilization by having sex in public and being paid for it. I'm curious what women think of her,

I can't tell if most of these comments are actual true religious freaks or trolls.
Either way, you've all found your way here to a news article of a woman we've all masturbated to at least once in our lives.
RIP Marylin.

Marcus:
Remember "judge not lest thee be judged"?
Besides it's pretty pathetic to be trolling the comment board of one news story for a number of hours.
Feel free to reply as I'm not so pathetic as to check back...

What happened to (excuse the paraphrase) "Do not judge lest ye be judged." Telling people that you believe doing certain things are wrong or that certain things will lead to hell and damnation isn't a terrible thing, trying to help them. But chiming in when someone has just died and telling us they're in hell isn't very loving. How do you know she wasn't repentant before the end? At the very least, if you thought she lead such a terrible life, you could have mentioning feeling some sort of sympathy or sadness or maybe giving us the "may God have mercy on her soul". If you're a Christian, you should try remembering the word "Christ" is in there.

So easily you seem to ignore the headlines about the SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER--THE DAUGHTER OF A MINISTER---who was arrested for KILLING A CHILD. Will you be judging her, too? Or can she use the God card to get out of jail free?

I want to start this off by saying that I have never heard of Marilyn Chambers until now, and I'm really just addressing two hypocrites who are bringing shame to my religion.
To James Johnson AND Marcus--I sincerely hope you're not making these statements from a Christian standpoint, because it's a well known belief in Christianity that the only Being able to judge and condemn is God...
Your job as a Christian is to THINK about others more than yourself--and I say "THINK" because self-righteous Christians always find a way to replace "THINK" with "JUDGE". It is NOT your God given purpose and right to judge others, there is only one chief supreme justice in this world-God Almighty.
My advice to you is to quit spending so much time at church where (unfortunately) the modern world has taken the original idea of church and transformed it into a sanctuary of self-righteous condemnation, and start doing what God wanted you to in the first place--Read His WORD. And if you're not going to do that, then PLEASE stop condemning people you do not know from Adam to Hell while claiming to be a Christian. That's called being a hypocrite. The Bible's got some great things to say about hypocrites:
---PLEASE MARCUS AND JAMES JOHNSON TAKE THESE VERSES TO HEART, YOU WOULD IF YOU WERE A CHRISTIAN, AND LIKE ALL CHRISTIANS MUST DO, SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE, LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE AND IF I WERE YOU, I'D APOLOGIZE TO GOD FOR TRYING TO DO HIS JOB THAT HE ALREADY DOES SO WELL!----
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." -Matthew 6:14-15
"When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have recieved their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
-Matthew 6: 5-6
"DO NOT JUDGE, OR YOU TOO WILL BE JUDGED. FOR IN THE SAME WAY YOU JUDGE OTHERS, YOU WILL BE JUDGED, AND WITH THE MEASURE YOU USE, IT WILL BE MEASURED TO YOU. WHY DO YOU LOOK AT THE SPECK OF SAWDUST IN YOUR BROTHER'S EYE AND PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE PLANK IN YOUR OWN EYE? HOW CAN YOU SAY TO YOUR BROTHER, 'LET ME TAKE THE SPECK OUT OF YOUR EYE,' WHEN ALL THE TIME THERE IS A PLANK IN YOUR OWN EYE? YOU HYPOCRITE, FIRST TAKE THE PLANK OUT OF YOUR OWN EYE, AND THEN YOU WILL SEE CLEARLY TO REMOVE THE SPECK FROM YOUR BROTHER'S EYE."
-Matthew 7: 1-5
And now, as a closer:
"Everything is permissible--but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible--but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others."
-1 Corinthians 10: 23-24
>>>>Your advice and condemnations are of someone who despite their career while on earth, still has family and friends who are devastated by a tragic loss. While your ignorant comments were permissible, as God tells you, they were definitely not beneficial or constructive, and here's why: 1. Marilyn Chambers has passed. Her fate is left up to God now, NOT EITHER OF YOU, and nothing you can say can change anything. 2. God says in his Word that believers should seek the good of others----The people that were left behind in Marilyn Chambers life are human beings who are grieving--and the CHRISTIAN thing to do is provide comfort and prayers--not comment on how their lost loved one is burning in Hell---ACCORDING TO YOU.
If you're such a devout Christian, and you love God so much, then quit trying to do his job. His Word makes it very clear in Matthew that He does not appreciate it...and HE makes it picture perfect clear how THEIR fate will be:
>>>>"For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery."
-Job 15:34

I met Marilyn years ago as "Insatiable" was doing it's world premier in KCMO. She was a wonderful person, very caring. She offered me a place to stay if I needed it (I was in a very difficult relationship at the time which had just came to a terrible end), a paid for hotel room as long as I needed it. She called my dad and brother and wished them a "Happy Birthday" one year even. We spoke several times on the phone for a few years then I lost contact with her. Those of you who are talking about "hell" and all of your judgements should remember that "we" should not judge others. Perhaps you will be the ones to find out what "hell" is like because of your judgement of others!

I actually got to know Marilyn back in 2000, very funny story actually but that is not the point. The point is that she was a very nice person, regardless of what you think about her as an adult performer.
Like anyone that is paid to act/perform, you don't really get to know that person other than what you see onscreen. I did, like some of the people that have made positive comments. She was a nice, caring person.
For all you people that made such hateful, deragatory remarks, you are the ones that truly have a problem, not her. I was more offended by some of the horrible statements made by some of these (good LOL) christians than anything that Marilyn might have done as an adult perfomer.
Thanks for a wonderful memory of having your friendship and I will miss you.

If you are such a religious person as you make yourself out to be, Marcus, then you should know to love everybody. You are a pathetic hypocrite just as all majority of your kind, stop wasting your time and find a more progressive hobby....
Amen?

To all of those who feel the need to cast judgment and opinion on a person, I am quite sure they did not personally know--
We are ALL children of God- Jesus's Sermon on the Mount teaches all y'all Christians this... so take a breather, and check your own motives for condemnation.. What are you doing clicking on the story in the first place?? LOL
She was a woman, a daughter, a wife, a friend and do not forget A MOTHER!!!! How dare you drag her name through your own bowels of hell while her family grieves...
Shame on you!!! and yes, I will pray that you may find the compassion, tolerance and love that your bible was meant for you to live your lives by.

With Good Friday and Easter just behind us,, was it not a known prostitute (Mary Magdalene) who cleansed Jesus's wounds whilst upon the cross??
If Jesus could love and forgive a woman of such social scorn, I am pretty confidant that Marilyn is by his side in the kingdom of heaven.
Billy, if you should read this, I am terribly sorry for you and McKenna's loss. God bless the two of you-you are in our thoughts and prayers
XO

>> John from the Westside & K Goetz said - John : Chapter 8 Verse 7
You cite this verse to prove what? That Jesus somehow approved of her sin, the same way I am supposed to approve of porn? Or not to speak against it? You took the wrong message from the parable. Christ was encouraging mercy, because they wanted to kill her, not giving permission to commit sin or to excuse it.
You should read the rest of the chapter where He tells her: "go, and sin no more" Jhn 8:11
>> Ethan Shuster said - At the very least, if you thought she lead such a terrible life, you could have mentioning feeling some sort of sympathy or sadness or maybe giving us the "may God have mercy on her soul"
Human Sympathy or sadness for Marylyn is irrelevant at this point, and thus pointless. There is no hope for her. I will not indulge in it.
But there is hope for you all that are still alive. I will be clear again - mercy is for TODAY: if you REPENT. Expect no mercy after death if you have not sincerely sought change. You will only receive JUDGMENT.
God is both loving and judgmental. Merciful but also righteous. He is both fair and harsh. The lamb AND the lion. Read the parable of the unprofitable servant (Matthew 25:14-30), you will see.
But you know, I am not surprised at the reaction I am getting. Jesus said you can't serve two masters because you will love one and hate the other.
Therefore, if you love porn; if you love wickedness; if you love darkness - which is your master, you will hate what I am saying without a doubt. Because the words I speak are contrary to your desires which are evil. And naturally you refuse the light because you love darkness.
For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (Jhn 3:20)
