Adult film star's cause of death is still undetermined

April 14, 2009 |  7:08 pm

The Associated Press is reporting that further tests must be conducted to determine the cause of death for adult film star Marilyn Chambers. Here's the story:

An autopsy has failed to determine the cause of death for adult film star Marilyn Chambers.

Los Angeles County coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said Tuesday that Chambers probably died of natural causes, but additional testing will be required to pinpoint the cause.

Chambers was found dead Sunday night at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Canyon Country. She was 56.

Chambers helped bring hard-core adult films into the mainstream consciousness when she starred in the explicit 1972 movie “Behind the Green Door.”

Her appearance in the film cost the then-aspiring model and actress her job as Procter & Gamble’s Ivory Snow girl, appearing on the soap box with a baby and the caption “99 & 44/100% pure.”
