Two of the Suleman octuplets arrive home in La Habra [UPDATED]

Suleman

Updated, 10:43 p.m: Surrounded by paparazzi and dozens of spectators, two of the octuplets delivered by Nadya Suleman arrived at their La Habra home tonight after their discharge from Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Bellflower.

Noah Angel and Isaiah Angel arrived about 10:24 p.m. after they were driven home in a sport utility vehicle that slowly proceeded through a crowd of onlookers before it came to a stop in the garage of the house. Photographers and other spectators clung to the side of the vehicle and tried to get a glimpse of the infants as the vehicle wheeled into the garage.

"This is a happy moment for everyone –- the family, physicians, nurses and entire ... staff," said Dr. Mandhir Gupta,  a neonatologist at Kaiser Permanente. “It is always rewarding whenever a premature infant goes home as a healthy baby."

After several visits to Suleman’s home, Kaiser Permanente officials said they determined that she could provide safe housing, sufficient child care, and the supplies and equipment needed to care for the first two octuplets.

Hospital officials said the remaining six babies continue to progress well and remain at Kaiser Permanente. All continue gaining weight and remain on either formula or donated pasteurized breast milk, they said.

Kaiser Permanente announced the discharge of two of the Southern California octuplets late Tuesday night. Here's a copy of the hospital's news release:

Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center discharged two of the Suleman octuplets from the hospital earlier this evening.

The discharged babies are:
Noah Angel (Baby A) – 5 lbs 13 oz
Isaiah Angel (Baby C) – 5 lbs

Both infants are able to bottle feed, are gaining weight and are able to maintain their body temperature.

"This is a happy moment for everyone –- the family, physicians, nurses and entire NICU staff," said Mandhir Gupta, MD., neonatologist at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center.  “It is always rewarding whenever a premature infant goes home as a healthy baby."

After several home visits Kaiser Permanente determined that Ms. Nadya Suleman has safe housing, sufficient child care support and the supplies and equipment needed to care for the first two octuplets.

The remaining six babies continue to progress well and remain at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center.  All continue gaining weight and remain on either formula or donated pasteurized breast milk.

The discharge was private at the request of the mother.

I think it is very interesting that the staff at Kaiser Bellflower are so concerned about the living conditions of the octomom and her children. They are the same hospital that was recently caught dropping off a patient who could not pay her bill in a taxi on skid row in Los Angeles. The woman was still in her hospital gown, wandering up and down the sidewalk, obviously confused. Finally an Angel from the Mission saw her on a surveillance camera and went out to help the Senior Citizen. I would also like to know how Nadya Sullemans hospitala bill is being paid. That would be interesting to find out.

And so it begins ... the EXPLOITATION of these innocent babies. How unfortunate their mother is mentally unstable living in her own Alice in Wonderland world. Every time she gets behind the wheel of her vehicle to and from endless shopping trips, she endangers whichever of the children are riding with her --as well as everyone else on the road. She invariably is TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE (holding it up to her ear) while the other hand is either checking her make-up in the rear view mirror or something else. With BOTH hands off the wheel and her attention WANDERING, one can only pray for everyone involved.
Whatever happens from hereon in, Dr Phil will have to answer for it, Due to her constant posturing for the cameras, EVERYONE in the world knows WHERE she lives. With all the nutcases, perverts and freaks .... one can only hope nothing bad happens.
Pity the poor neighbors! Those poor folks do not deserve what is about to happen to them. With the bad housing market, it would be virtually impossible to sell off their homes. The increased traffic puts EVERY CHILD in that area in real danger. Perhaps the speed limits can be reduced and crossing guards employed. (Maybe Dr Phil knows some MORE PEOPLE who can resolve THAT issue as well).

They are not considering the babies' well-being by not first
ordering a full psychological evaluation of Nadya Sulamon.
Just because her house is ready does not mean that she is
psychologically healthy enough to be a good enough mother
to another 8 babies. At the very least, they should order her
to be in individual therapy for her very obvious emotional issues.
Having a decent house is the least of these 14 children's needs!

Can we present this biatch with a bill for the millions of taxpayer-funded medical care that was required to launch her career as a highly paid freak?

Congratulations Nadya, these babies are beautiful....wish you the best.....

when is the times going to stop covering this broke down angelina jolie? she is an attention whore , stop already, i am sick of her, and her brood, give me a break, she should have bought a house in the dessert, i wonder if the paparazi would have followed her out there? enough already!

I am happy that the babies were well enough to leave the hospital. Social services needed to take them to a home where aomeone that is capable to care for them! Not give the idiot that is obviously not responsable enough to care for them...she couldn't take care of the six she had before!!

Who the heck is helping this woman? Anyone? The police? Her PR people? They can't legally jump on her car or be on her property. Regardless what I or anyone thinks of her decision to have eight more children, we live in a country of law and order for EVERYONE - the mob should not rule regardless of who is being harassed.

This despicable attention seeker is getting just what she wanted and much of it at taxpayer expense. I can't say much more for Gloria Allred - anytime she's involved in any case you can bet that personal recognition is her main goal. These poor children!

How pathetic. No wonder the LA Times is on the skids. Neither the online versions of the NY Times or Washington Post had ANY mention of this ridiculous woman and her litter on the front cover. THIS IS NOT NEWS! Who gives a damn? With all the important events happening in the US and the world, to put a huge photo of the media packed in like rats front of the house is egregious waste of space. It looks like the LA Times is still holding to a story that has long lost its freak show value. Wake up.

And why is Kaiser announcing when discharges of the babies take place? Didn't Kaiser get enough adverse publicity in the movie Sicko?

I don't understand why Nadya did what she did, but now that she did it, she should take responsibility for those children. Instead of being a "hero", blustering how she loves them, she should prove it to them be allowing those babies to be adopted by families who are better suited to give them stable, loving homes. Being a single mother of 14 is not fair to any of those chldren. Nadya is a very selfish, foolish young woman who will one day regret her decision. The attention, freebies and excitement will be gone, and when she looks at her life as it truly is, it will be a mess.

My bet is she's pregnant again within a year ...

This woman is on food stamps and she gets medicare for the children health.

Why is the State of California not demanding a repayment of all funds that was given to her. Her parents house is in foreclosure but she can afford a home costing over half-a million dollars.

who in their right mind is giving this woman money. I can understand people giving diapers or formula but no one should give her cash.

this is exactly what she envision. There are people who play by the rules and is not getting this kind of help. it just goes to show, in the good old US of A be a fool and more fools will enbrace you even support your livelyhood.

I will never donate to Angels in Waiting

I do not watch Dr.Phil ,

And patients who use Kaiser Bellflower hospital ought to look at their bills carefully because they have to make up the money they spend on ocotomom some how. increasing everyone bill is one way.

While everyone pays Ms thing lives in a 1/2 a million plus home. with round the clock maids and house keepers for her children go ahead nadya have some more kids so all these fools could continue to fawn over you and them.

I know one of the neighbors. it has become hell on earth for the family and as for the cops and news.....there attitude is oh well or too bad. you figure out for yourself which comes from which source.

I think the octuplet incident should highlight some medical ethics issues, and it's good to have a public discussion of it. But why is it legal for those paparazzi to climb on her car and create a circus? Why aren't they arrested? There are little babies involved. If Nadya is freaked out, that's bad for their health.

What is done is done. She already had these babies and each of them is a blessing to this earth just as any other child is. At least they are getting taken care of by whatever means and have a great home to live in. Lets stop judging this woman, If we stop then these reports will die out! They reported because the public is so infatuated with her. Its common sense people.

Perhaps if I type slowly, the Times will get it: This. Is. Not. News. Stop covering this deranged attention whore's every move and let those babies have some small chance at a normal life.

Does anyone in California know what Medi-cal is???
Have you looked at the angels in waiting web site???
The public was led to believe Nadya was getting 24/7 using donations LLOLOLO what fools. These woman are doing this while getting PAID from the government/ TAXES TAXES for all of us. They are working as Private nurses. Check it out!
While Nadya made a huge mistake and the children should be the Only reason keep an eye on things. Nadya could have done this with the help from Nannies with CDA and certifications. If Nadya is making money from the media as they say. Then there is Gloria Allred in there too. All these people making. How much government money are the angels in waiting giving her with all OUR donations??? Keep an eye open california. I have been a nanny for years, certified and a fostor mom for years also I only had new born to one year then older ones too. I have been there with preemies. God Bless the children

Boy, some of these people must lead superior lives to be able to justify passing so much judgment on Nadya Sulemon. Roberta thinks that the children should all be put up for adoption. I guess that means that others who have large families (there are several on tv, one had 10, two have 17 - each!) And what about those ladies who seem to have more babies so that their wellfare checks increase with each child. We'd better have those children removed and adopted out too, right Roberta? What an intelligent solutionist you are, indeed. I sure hope, for your sake, dear Roberta and others like you, that you don't live in a glass house.
