Suspected gang member fatally shot in Atwater Village

A 20-year-old suspected gang member was fatally shot Tuesday night after an argument in Atwater Village, police said.

The shooting took place about 9:15 p.m. in front of  a home in the 2900 block of Glenmanor Place, according to Karen Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, identified as a male Latino, was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, Smith said.

The suspect in the shooting was described as a man between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt. Smith said the victim and the suspect were believed to be in the same gang.

i was wondering if by any chance u knew the suspects name?

Was the perp black, white, chinese?
Let's see a little journalism here. This is pathetic.

yea the the victims name wa s joey romo ,a good friend , and agood person, so sad to lose him, just two years ago the same gang killed his brother micheal romo on almost the same damn block! , and the suspect was not from the gang , the suspects are from the chevy chase toonerville gang rest in peace joey romo n micheal romo you will be missed

Who ever asked ahe suspects name needs to be investigated. It's amazing how soon incident that some one comment on this crime.

He was a good person I've know him since he was 14 years old! That is no way for someone to go! He just lost his brother 2 years ago! Rip you will be missed

Hmm, another roach bites the dust. By the way, not only do I live on the next street over from where the shooting took place - I was out for a stroll and actually walked right through the crime scene an hour before the murder.

MILLIONS of thoughts are running through my head, hearing this just made me SO sad, he was always good to me, I just can't believe after all these years of knowing him he's just gone.. waking up and going to school with him.. talking to him.. going out with him.. our lives are barely starting.. he didnt even get the chance to get married.. or have kids.. i CAN'T believe someone would do this.. KNOWING what his mother went through with his other brother.. Some people out there are so ruthless. I don't think its something to be proud of.. I hope he rests in paradise where theres absolutely NO drama and he could be in peace.

You will be forever in my heart... and you will be dearly missed..
See you soon.

This comment is to the suspect, cuz I know you will read this. After all, the criminal always comes back to the scene of the crime...
Who died and made you boss? Who are you to take someones life? No matter who they are, you are not God, you are not the punisher!!
Remember this, the more you kill, the faster death will come for you! And for the rest of you bad asses that think they are all that because your in a gang! Your time will come too... No matter how much you pray that it doesn't, it will come.. So be prepared, cuz it might get you when you least expect it!

For the family members, sorry for your loss. I know words cannot heal your heart, just know that this stranger is here for you.. God Bless

YOU WERE A GREAT PERSON YOU WILL BE MISSED KNOWING U THIS PAST 7 YEARS WAS GREAT YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!!!!!!!! JOEY ROMO!!!!! YOU WERE AWESOME!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN! TAKE CARE OF US FROM WHERE EVER U ARE!!!

so sorry for this loss. Joey Romo will definetly be missed. Such a good person. No one deserves this ,especially not his family. Well joey till we meet again.

People should have a little compassion about what they write and get their facts straight before posting their comments.
Obviously YOU did not know my little brother or anything about him. Not every Mexican kids death is Gang related. Not only do we have to deal with his loss, but then to see these negative things posted about him really proves what a cruel, cold world we are living in. My little brother did not deserve to die and we did not deserve to lose another loved one. Joey did not deserve this and anyone who knew my little brother felt the same. Instead of posting negative comments, please help us in finding our little brothers killer. I know there is a buzz on the streets and I know time is of essence. Please contact Det. Carrillo @ the Northeast Police Dept. with any information you may have. Anything and everything is helpful. signed, Joeys sister

I LIVE 1BLOCK OVER FROM. WHERE JOEY & MICHAEL LIVED , I THINK ITS HORRIBLE THAT THERE MOM HAS TO ENDURE THIS PAIN ,ALLOVER AGAIN.MY HEART GOES OUT TO THERE FAMILY . JOEY IM GONNA MISS SEEING YOUR BIG OLD SMILE AROUND THE VILLAGE .

I agree with Joeys sisters, how can people post such horrible garbage at a time like this, people are mourning the loss of a loved one, obviously the people who are hitting up tunas and calling people "GARBAGE" Know a little more than us, for those of you out there looking this up and taking pride on Joeys death, you will get what you deserve, i just hope the cops get you first.....
