Robbers hit Mission Viejo jewelry store

Masked burglars smashed into a jewelry store in Mission Viejo on Tuesday morning, making off with an unknown amount of merchandise, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says construction workers at The Shops at Mission Viejo spotted three masked men running from the back entrance of Kevin Jewelers about 6 a.m. The three men got into a dark gray Porsche Cayenne and drove away, Amormino said.
