Metrolink train strikes, kills man near Santa Clarita

A northbound Metrolink train traveling between Santa Clarita and Palmdale struck and killed a man Monday night, according to Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita sheriff's station.

The unidentified man was standing on the train tracks in a desolate area near Oak Springs Canyon Road and Lost Canyon Road near Santa Clarita, Bryski said.

The incident was reported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department at 6:10 p.m.
