Iraq veteran killed in vehicle accident

A Marine corporal who survived a combat tour in Iraq has died from a roll-over accident while riding an all-terrain vehicle in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area in Imperial County, the Marines announced Monday.

Cpl. Cody Searway, 21, of Humble, Texas, was killed Saturday night when his vehicle tumbled down a dune.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Searway was a mechanic assigned to the Marine Wing Support Squadron 371 at the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz.
